In this session we will learn the basics of 3D modeling software, preparing a 3D model for printing, and the use of the studio clay 3d printer.

We will explore two approaches to creating 3D models (parametric design and sculpting), best practices for creating models that can be successfully printed, and tips for achieving the best performance from 3D printing hardware. Not only will we discuss how to create and print clay 3D models in this session, but we will also cover why to choose 3D printing as opposed to other clay techniques.

We will spend a significant portion of this class working in software. *Please have a laptop available (Windows or Macintosh) along with a mouse.
